Club Comms - Trustee Vacancy
Oundle RFC - Trustee Vacancy
Following the SGM on 10 August 2026, at which members unanimously supported the next stage of our club development, Oundle Rugby Football Club Ltd will be dissolved as a Community Benefit Society. A new charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) will be created to become the community club. A CIO is a corporate body, similar to a company, with a constitution that is registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission. It is an incorporated form of charity, but unlike a company it only needs to register with the Charity Commission, not Companies House.
A CIO only comes into existence once it has been registered by the Charity Commission. It can enter into contracts in its own right, and its trustees will normally have limited or no personal liability for the CIO’s debts.
The charity will have five trustees who will be responsible for making sure it stays true to its purpose, uses its resources well and meets its legal duties. In practice, this means working together to guide the organisation’s direction, oversee finances, make sound decisions and support good governance. In England and Wales, trustees usually need to be aged 18 or over.
The board of Trustees will be made up as follows
Oundle CIO Chair
Oundle CIO Treasurer
Representative of Oundle Rugby Football Club (Professional) Limited
Voluntary Club Member
Independent Trustee
We are therefore looking for a volunteer club member to join the Trustee Board. If you would like to be considered, please apply in writing to secretary@oundlerfc.com, explaining why you would like to be appointed and what relevant strengths or experience you would bring to the role. Please also include your contact details. Tenure will normally be for 3 years.
Closing date – 28th September 2026
